Electrons U9s v Westwood Wanderers

Great comeback on Saturday by the electrons against very good opposition with several Academy players .

Westwood were 2-0 up within 2 mins and it looked like we were in for spanking but a few changes and a great long range goal got us back in the game. Pulled it back to 2-2 then hit the bar twice before Westwood scored again. 3-2 down into the last quarter and the boys kept going and finally the chances went in 3-3 and end to end stuff before we scored the winner on the break.

Think all the parents enjoyed that one .

U9s Electrons v Pinewood Pumas Cup Tie

An evenly fought cup tie left the score 1-1 after full time. We were physically the strongest we’ve been and kept pressing for the winner. Extra time was agreed, and after coming close many times finally scored to win 2-1.

After discussion with their manager it was agreed we should have gone to penalties instead of extra time. This was harsh on the boys but after a nail biting sudden death penalty shoot out we went through 5-4 and justice was done.

U16s looking for players

Our U16 Blues team play in the second division of the East Berkshire league on a Saturday.

They are looking for players to help bolster the squad numbers, after unfortunately losing some players last season.

Please contact Dave Lewis u16blues@nplyouthfootball.co.uk in the first instance, or fill in a Player Joining query.

Gritted determination of U9 Protons

NPL U9 Protons’ last two games have been real character building contests.

Going behind early in both matches (Motspur Park and Old I’s Reds more recently) could have been their heads drop…not for the U9 Protons.

Wonderful passing, teamwork and determination saw great goals closing the games to within one score each.

Coaches Paul and Jaimol couldn’t have asked for more from the boys.

First home game of the season this Sunday. The Protons will be looking resplendent in their new kits … and looking for a good result to the game!

More espresso than latte!!!
