U10 Cosmos are Cup Final Champions!

NPLYFC's U10 Cosmos team won the EBFA Cup against Finchampstead Chiefs, a side who had beaten them in the semi-final the previous year.

An early volley by Alex Weir from an Edward Wheeler cross made it 1-0 which was quickly followed up with a header from Vincent Edgill to make it 2-0 to NPL. A nervous final quarter saw Finch pull a goal back before Alex Weir got his second of the game. Further nerves were shredded when Finch scored again and James Derrick pulled off a number of fantastic saves in goal to ensure the final score was 3-2 to NPL.

Captain Alex Carter proudly lifted the cup.

NPL Youth United: Cup & League Double Winners!

Hot on the heels of winning the Surrey Youth Premier League division title, NPL Youth United (our U17 team) today won the League Cup as well! On a baking hot day at Imber Court, NPL beat Premier Elite Champions Abbey Rangers 2-1 to lift their second trophy of the season. We were 1-0 down at half-time, but Ryan David equalised, before Alfie Pope snatched a stoppage time winner, to cue wild celebrations from a packed crowd of NPL faithful. Many congratulations to Steven Bates and his team for a fine season.

We won away at Epsom & Ewell, the only team who could still catch us – coming back from 3-1 down at half time to win 6-3. In a superb season, we have won 13 of our 15 games to date, scoring 62 goals and conceding just 20. Many congratulations to all the players, and also to their manager, Steven Bates. Next up, we contest the League Cup Final, when we take on Premier Elite champions Abbey Rangers on 8th May at Imber Court (2:30 KO, all support welcome!)
